Biography
Abdulrahman was hails from Kwara state but was born in Kaduna on the 5th of February, 1960.
His father is Alh. A.G.F. Abdulrazaq SAN, Nigeria’s first Northern Lawyer.
From 1966 to 1966, he schooled at Capital School, Kaduna and then Bishop Smith Memorial School, Illorin from 1070- 1971.
He completed his secondary education at Government College, Kaduna in 1976.
Career
AbdulRasaq is the CEO of Nigeria’s first indigenous oil and gas trading companies, NOPA Oil Services and First Fuels which dealt with export of petroleum products to other countries.
He is a consultant to different oil companies and government firms.
Politics
Under the umbrella of the Congress for Progressive Change, AbdulRahman contested thrice for the governorship of Kwara state but lost.
In 2019, he contested again as Governor of Kwara state under All Progressives Congress platform and won and was re-elected in 2023 as Governor of Kwara state.
He is the new chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
Personal life
AbdulRahman is married to Olufolake Molawa Davies Abdulrazaq and they have three children.
He is devout muslim and is involved in various philantropic deeds.
