AFCON 2023: NFF unveils 40-man professional squad (full list)

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has released the preliminary roster of the Super Eagles for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire, comprised of 40 brilliant players prepared to represent the country in the prestigious competition.
The roster is divided into six goalkeepers, thirteen defenders, eight midfielders, and thirteen strikers, with a mix of seasoned professionals and young stars. The roster features the return of goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye, and Stanley Nwabali. Defenders William Troost-Ekong and Kevin Akpoguma make notable returns to help the team’s defensive line.
The midfield features a strong roster led by Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, while the attacking unit is led by famous stars such as Victor Osimhen, Emmanuel Dennis, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Although the NFF has not officially declared the final squad, football fans are buzzing as the Super Eagles prepare to compete in Group A against Equatorial Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, and Guinea-Bissau for AFCON gold.
