AFCON friendly: Guinea defeats Super Eagles 2-0

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated 2-0 to Guinea in a friendly game on Monday in preparation for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, which begins on February 13th in Cote d’Ivoire.

The friendly match was place at Abu Dhabi’s Bani Yas Stadium.

Guinea scored the game’s opening goal in the 14th minute, according to the Super Eagles’ official X page, which provided rapid updates on the action.

The Eagles fought to equalize in the first half, which finished 1-0 to Guinea.

Nigeria fell 2-0 to Guinea in their first pre-AFCON friendly match.

According to Platinum Times, Nigeria is looking for their fourth AFCON title, having previously won in 1980, 1994, and 2013.

The Eagles’ opening Group A match will be against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, followed by a four-day contest against host nation Ivory Coast. On January 22, they will face Guinea Bissau in their last Group A match.

Guinea is also in a tough group in this year’s AFCON, along with Cameroon, Gambia, and defending champions Senegal.p
