Azemhe Azena emerges Edo NNPP guber candidate

Dr. Azemhe Azena, a philanthropist and televangelist, has emerged as the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) candidate for the Edo State gubernatorial election on September 21.

Azena received 211 votes to defeat three other candidates in the primary conducted on Friday at the Depraisery Event Centre on Ugor Road in Benin City.

According to a statement issued by the party’s national publicity secretary, Hon. Yakubu Shendam, the result was announced by Sen. Kawu Sumaila, chairman of the NNPP Edo State primary election committee, who declared Azena the winner by defeating Peter Okieguale, who polled 100 votes for second place, while Rev. Sebastian Iyere and Balogun Engeyemhe polled 25 and 17 votes for third and fourth place, respectively.

Azena is the regional pastor of Omega Fire Ministry South-South and is from Okpekpe, Etsako-East, in the Edo North senatorial zone.
