Background
Bella Shmurda was born on January 27th, 1996 in Wera street, Ita Elewa, Ikorodu but was raised in Okokomaiko, Ojo Local Government, Lagos State.
After his elementary and secondary education, he proceeded to the University of Lagos where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations.
Career
Bella became famous after releasing his debut single “Vision 2020” which caught the interest of Nigerian rapper Olamide who did a follow-up remix of the song followed by a dance video by Poco Lee which went viral and earned the interest of Olamide who invited Bela over to his studio for a remix.
This move motivated Bella Shmurda to release his first EP “High Tension” in January 2020.
Following the success of this song, Bella released several other songs and featured popular rapper, Zlatan and this earned him lots of awards and popularity and also got inducted into the YouTube Foundry Programme facilitated annually by YouTube Music to help upcoming musicians develop their talents in 2021.
He was also featured in an Episode on the African music interview series “This is Africa” which was facilitated by BBC.
In March 2023, he released his first single of the year, “Ara (Gen Gen Tin)” after his album project rollout and a single titled “NSV” which featured Tiwa Savage.
