Biography of Ahmed Ololade Asake (Asake)

Ahmed Ololade Asake, known professionally as Asake, was born in Lagos on January 13, 1995. He is also frequently referred to as Mr. Money.
He is a well-known Nigerian Afrobeats specialist and singer-songwriter with Yoruba ancestry.
YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution signed Asake. His stage name is a tribute to his mother, Asake, who has the first name.
In 2020, the Nigerian Afro-pop musician Asake had breakthrough hit with “Lady,” an inescapably cheery song with a fast pace and upbeat sentiments.
He continued to increase his fan base over the following two years with more singles like “Mr. Money” and the well-known Olamide duet “Omo Ope.”
Asake mixes Afropop, Amapiano, Afro-R&B, and Fuji to create melodies that seem like anthems. He is well renowned for jams like “Sungba,” “Peace Be Unto You,” “Terminator,” “Organize,” and “Joha,” to name a few.

FAMILY
Asake’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ololade, are Muslims who were born and reared in Lagos State but are originally from the country’s South-Western region.
His mother is a teacher, and his father is a businessman with a base in Lagos.
EDUCATION
At first concentrating on dance, Ahmed Ololade Asake studied theater and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University.
MUSICAL JOURNEY
Asake began his professional dancing career as a cultural dance specialist while still a student in high school. He also played the drums in the musical band at his high school.
He began performing professionally as a musician in 2015, backing up renowned comedian and skit creator Broda Shaggi.
Around 2018, he started releasing music, fusing vibrant Afrobeat beats with his unique style of singing and quick freestyling.
He released “Lady” in 2020, which really established his career, after refining his sound through earlier singles like “Ayeeza” and “Kanipe.”
The song’s popularity was increased thanks to endorsements from more seasoned tastemakers like Broda Shaggi and Tunde Ednut. He then released “Mr. Money,” which quickly became one of his signature songs.
The songs “Don’t Hype Me” and “Yan Yan” from 2021 contributed to the expectation for Ololade Asake, his debut EP from 2022.
Featuring Nigerian singer Olamide, the EP’s opening track “Omo Ope” went on to become Asake’s biggest hit.
All of this led up to the singer’s debut album, Mr. Money with the Vibe, being released in September.
The album gained Asake further success in the United States, peaking at number 66 on the Billboard pop chart. It featured a varied and wide-ranging mash-up of musical genres, including Afrobeats, Fuji, classical elements, and plenty of glistening pop.
Asake revealed in an interview that after Yhemolee played one of his songs to Olamide, the latter brought him over and asked him if he wanted to become a part of the YBNL family.
On February 8, 2022, Asake, the newest signee of Olamide’s YBNL Nation, released a remix of the song “Omo Pe.”
In February 2022, Asake released his debut EP, “Ololade.” His breakout hit, “Omo Ope,” with Olamide and “Sungba,” was featured on the self-titled album. Burna Boy, a renowned Nigerian musician, later remixed the song.
Hit singles including “Terminator,” “Peace Be Unto You,” and “Sungba Remix” with Burna Boy are among the 12 tracks on the album.
Positive feedback and remarks from fans in Nigeria and around the world have been received by the chart-topping project, which has also broken multiple records.
