Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe hails from the Nigerian Igbo tribe and was born in Awka, Anambra State, in Eastern Nigeria on 28th July, 1964.
She grew up in Owerri, Imo State, where she studied at the Federal Government Girls’ College.
She graduated from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Kings College, London where she holds a Bachelor of Law and Master of Law respectively.

Career

She has served meritoriously in banks such as the Citizens International Bank, Zenith Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Enterprise bank where she was appointed Executive Director.
Nneka joined Fidelity Bank as an Executive Director in 2015 and was involved in the structuring of complex transactions in Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Aviation, Real Estate and Export among others before she was appointed Managing Director/CEO of the Bank in January 2021.
Following her appointment, she became the first female MD/CEO in the history of the bank.
Under her watch as the CEO of Fidelity Bank, she guided the bank to obtain the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria to expand its operations to the United Kingdom with the acquisition of the former Union Bank UK, now Fidelity Bank UK Limited.
She also pioneered the growth of the bank’s PBT from N25.22bn in FY 2021 to N122bn in FY 2023 earning Fidelity Bank accolades such as;
