Biography
Born in Ogun State, Nigeria on September 21st 1960.
Oluremi schooled at Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School Ijebu-Ode where she had her West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam (WASSCE) in 1979, and thereafter a post graduate diploma ( PGD) from The Redeemed Christian bible college in 2010.
She graduated with a degree in Education from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and a National Certificate of Education in Botany and Zoology from the Adeyemi College of education.
Family
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu is married to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and she has children and stepchildren.
She is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Career
Before her involvement in politics, she was a classroom teacher.
She became the First Lady of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007 when her husband, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was Governor of Lagos State.
As at that time, she founded a foundation, The New Era Foundation with the sole aim of helping less privileged children, women and adolescent girls.
In 2011, She was elected into the National assembly where she dutifully represented her Constituency.
She proposed a bill of reform for the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) in 2021.
Senator Oluremi is also the pioneer and Grand Matron of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).
