BREAKING: Amidst heavy protest, APC commence Ondo Gov Primary results collation
On Sunday night, at around nine o'clock in the evening, the results collation process began in spite of protests from a few candidates who maintained that the exercise had not taken place and called for its cancelation.
The contest to become the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the governorship on November 16, 2024 is is gradually coming to an end.
“We have come to the end of a significant moment in the history of our great party as we conclude the Ondo State APC primary election,” Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State declared at the Dome Hall of the International Culture and Event Centre in Akure, the state capital, on Sunday night.
The hall, fever-pitched, was crowded by party’s faithful and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ododo, the Chairman of the seven-member APC committee for the conduct of the party’s governorship primary in the Sunshine State urged the 16 aspirants to view the exercise as a contest among brothers.
The Kogi governor, who was flanked some party chieftains including the deputy committee chair and ex-Deputy Senator President Ovie Omo-Agege, thereafter called on the returning officers from each of the local governments to declare their results.
