Senator Monday Okpebholo has been named winner of the Edo All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River, who chaired the Edo APC shadow poll, made the announcement after tallying the results from the 18 local government areas.
Okpebholo defeated Dennis Idahosa, who received 6,541 votes, with a total of 12,433.
The collation and declaration took place at the Lushville Hotel and Suites on Gapiona Avenue in Benin’s Government Reservation Area (GRA).
