Nigeria’s Super Eagles will meet Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in the African Cup of Nations Round of 16 on Saturday.
The match was confirmed after Cameroon finished the group stage with a thrilling 3-2 win over Gambia on Tuesday night.
With the victory, they ended fourth in Group C, four points behind Senegal, while Guinea, which lost to Senegal on Tuesday, qualified for the knockout round as one of the best losers.
Super Eagles advanced to the knockout stage after defeating Guinea Bissau 1-0 on Monday.
The team finished seventh in Group A, trailing surprise package Equatorial Guinea by seven points.
Cameroon scored twice with time running down to secure a stunning victory and remove Ghana from the tournament.
In an incredible conclusion in Bouake, Ebrima Colley scored on 85 minutes to put Gambia up 2-1, only for Joseph Gomez to concede an own goal before an extra-time Christopher Wooh goal won the game.
Despite being 80 places higher in the world rankings than the Gambia, Cameroon faced significant first-half pressure and were fortunate to be level at 0-0 at halftime.
