Calvin Bassey, a defender from Nigeria, and Fulham of the Premier League have agreed a preliminary deal.
Bassey, who presently represents Ajax, is expected to sign with Fulham for about £18 million, according to Sky Sports News.
According to the source, Fulham and Southampton are nearing an agreement to buy Mohammed Salisu for £15 million.
Salisu is reportedly Fulham’s preferred candidate, but a final choice has not yet been made because personal considerations will play a role.
Maurice Steijn, the Ajax coach, had since persuaded Bassey to accept a deal from Fulham.
23-year-old Bassey moved from Rangers to Ajax last season.
