Carabao Cup final: Van Dijk’s extra time header secures victory for Liverpool against Chelsea

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk scored in the 118th minute of the Carabao Cup final, defeating Chelsea 1-0 on Sunday evening.
The game lacked quality and energy, with both sides missing a few opportunities.
The two sides also had goals disallowed.
Raheem Sterling’s first-half goal was disallowed for offside, and Van Dijk’s header was ruled out for an infraction.
However, Van Dijk was not to be denied deep into extra time, as his glancing header found the back of the net.
It is the first trophy in Jurgen Klopp’s final season with the Reds.
