Edo Guber: Abure working for Obaseki, PDP – LP treasurer claims

Mrs Oluchi Oparah, the National Treasurer of the Labour Party (LP), has accused the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, of anti-party activities.
The LP treasurer made the claim on Tuesday while appearing on Arise Television’s Morning Show.
The statement follows her demand on Monday during a press conference in Abuja that Abure furnish an account of party monies totaling more than N3.5 billion, which are the proceeds of form sales and other fundraisers for the 2023 general elections.
Oparah further claimed that Abure prohibited her from carrying out her legally appointed task of managing the party’s accounts.
However, in response to a Labour Party statement claiming that she was being sponsored by those outside the party, Oparah reiterated her previous position, adding, “They are masters at disseminating incorrect information.”
According to the treasurer, Abure has formed an alliance and is in talks with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Edo State.
She said:
“I want to state the fact that they are masters at disseminating wrong information. What do I mean by that? When issues like these are being played out, the right thing to be done is to carry out an investigation. And I am speaking from the place of strength, asking that the right thing should be done.
“Now, they are always quick to accuse someone of being sponsored, especially from the opposition party. I want to State it clearly here that if there’s anybody that has any alliance with the opposition, it’s the National Chairman of the Labour Party. Let him come out and say he hasn’t been in talks with the government of Edo State.”
