EFCC grills suspended minister Betta Edu

On Tuesday, January 9, EFCC investigators began questioning Betta Edu, the suspended minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, about the purported N585 million disbursement.
She arrived at the EFCC offices in Jabi, Abuja, about 11 a.m.
The problematic minister arrived with her attorneys and assistants and is now before EFCC investigators.
Edu arrived at the EFCC offices just one day after President Bola Tinubu suspended her.
After being accused in a N585 million payment scandal involving her ministry, Edu faced intense criticism from activists and rights organizations.
The 37-year-old’s dilemma was exacerbated when the Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, stated that, while her office received a request from the humanitarian ministry to make some payments, it did not act on it.
Details shortly.
