The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a law enforcement agency that investigates financial crimes such money laundering, advance fee fraud (419 fraud) and cyber crimes.
It was established in 2003 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to cub the high rate of financial crimes in Nigeria.
EFCC Ranks
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is ranked according to their academic qualifications and years of service and experience in the commission.
The ranks are listed below according to their hierarchy;
- Director
- Deputy Director (DD)
- Assistant Director (AD)
- Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS)
- Detective Superintendent(DS)
- Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS)
EFCC salary structure
The EFCC officers are paid according to their ranks, high ranking officers are paid higher than low ranking officers.
The monthly salary received by EFCC officers are listed below;
Director: N300,000
Deputy Director (DD): N250,000
Assistant Director (AD): N190,000
Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS): N170,000
Detective Superintendent (DS): N150,000
Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS): N140,000
