Biography
Emem Usoro is an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, Southern Nigeria. She is happily married with children.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from tthe University of Uyo in 1996 before acquring a Master’s in Business Administration fro the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1997.
In a quest for more knowledge, she attended a Senior Management program at the Lagos Business School, Pan African University in 2007.
In 2008 and 2009, she attended a strategic management program and a General management program at the Harvard business school respectively.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
Career
She started her career as a branch manager at the Defunct Bank PHB between 2004 and 2007 and a Zonal head from 2007 until 2009 when she was made the Regional Executive of Victoria Island Region of the bank.
In 2010, she joined the United Bank for Africa serving judiciously as the Regional Head of the Akwa-Ibom and Abuja Branch from 2010 to 2013.
While working with UBA, her dedication and commitment earned her top managerial positions in the bank and subsequently the Executive Director of the bank in 2022.
In September, 2023, she was appointed Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria((CBN) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
