FIFA president break silence on introduction of blue card

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has rejected the proposal to implement a blue card in football.

According to reports last week, the International Football Association Board approved the trials.

It would have been the first new card used in football since the 1970 World Cup, when the conventional yellow and red cards were introduced.

However, following an immediate outcry to the plans, Infantino has informed Sky UK that such a card does not exist.

“Blue cards? This is a topic that is non existent for us,” he said.

“If you want a title it is: red card to the blue card. No chance, no way.”
