Early life
Harrysong was born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria to Ijaw parents on 30th March, 1981.
He grew up in Port Harcourt and loved listening to music genres from Oriental Brothers, Victor Owaifo, Lex Benson, Fela Anukulapo and this influenced his love for old school music.
Career
Harrysong started off as an instrumentalist at an early age in the church where his mother was the music director and this motivated him to learn gospel music.
He relocated to Lagos in 2007 and performed at night clubs where he eventually met Kcee who introduced him to the Five Star Music Label.
His became famous after he released his hit single “I’m In Love” and “Taiye & Kehinde” with the music video of the former topping music video charts including Trace TV.
He went on to release his debut album Testify through QuestionMark Entertainment in 2012 and 2014, Harrysong was nominated in the “Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year” category at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards after the release of his chart-topping song “Beta Pikin”.
In 2015, Harrysong released two hit singles featuring other artists in them.
He released “Feel It’ fetauring Iyanya and Kcee but before that, in thesame year, ‘Reggae Blues’ featuring Olamide, Kcee and Iyanya.
However, just before COVID-19 entered Nigeria he released a new song titled Bumbum which he teamed up with Davido.
Apart from his music career, he also earns his income from signing of endorsement deals with brands like MTN and Gala sausage.
In 2024, Harrysong got an appointment as the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Entertainment and this is so far recorded as another milestone in his career.
