Education
Ibrahim Gaidam started his early education at Yunusari Primary School after which he studied at Borno Teachers College and obtain his grade two certificate.
Prior to his Accounting degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, he studied for a Diploma in Accounting from the same University and was later confirmed as a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria.

Born on September 15th 1956, in Bukarti village in Yunusari LGA of Former Borno, now Yobe State, Nigeria.
He is a Muslim and married to three wives. He has children from his wives.
Career
Gaidam started his career as a teacher and an accountant in different government Ministeries in Yobe State.
He was assistant director of Finance in the Directorate of Foods, Roads and Rural Infrastructure and acting Director of Finance and Supplies in the Yobe Information and Culture Ministry.
In 1995, he was appointed Commissioner for Youths and Sports, and then Commissioner of Commerce and Industries.
From 1997 to 2007, he was a Director in the State Finance Ministry and Permanent Secretary in various other ministries.
Political History
Gaidam was Deputy governor of Yobe on the platform of the All Nigeria People’s Party(ANPP) in 2007.
After the death of Governor Mamman Bello Ali, Gaidam was sworn in as Executive Governor on January 2009.
He led the ANPP tactical committee for the 2011 elections which he was apparently re-elected as governor of Yobe state.
Following the amalgamation of ANPP and several other parties to form the All Progressive Congress (APC), governor Gaidam switched to APC and was re-elected again as governor of Yobe State.
After his tenure as governor, Gaidam was elected to the 9th National Assembly as the senator for the Yobe East Senatorial District in March 2019.
While serving as governor of Yobe State, Governor Gaidam forsaw several projects and humanitarian services in the state ranging from building of good infrastructures and educational reforms.
Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam was appointed Minister of Police Affairs in the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
