Insecurity: Ohanaeze Ndigbo changes venue of ‘Igbo Day Celebration’ from South East

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organization has relocated its 2023 Igbo Day celebration to an unnamed location in Rivers State.

The place was changed owing to a planned attack, according to Ohanaeze Factional Secretary-General Okechukwu Isiguzoro.

The Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was set to host this year’s Igbo Day celebration on September 29.

However, Isiguzoro stated that the gathering was relocated to an undisclosed site to avoid a rumored planned attack.

In an interview with Platinum Times on Thursday morning, Isiguzoro stated:

“The venue of this year’s Igbo day holding in Liberation Stadium has been moved to an undisclosed and restricted location in Rivers State.

“The change in venue followed security reports of a planned attack and disruption of the event. The latest development has been communicated to those affected.”
