JUST-IN: Akpabio gives oath of office to three new senators

On Tuesday, February 13, three senators who won by-elections in their respective districts were sworn in before Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Prince Pam Mwadkon (Action Democratic Party – ADP, Plateau North), Professor Anthony Ani (All Progressives Congress, APC, Ebonyi South), and Mustapha Musa (All Progressives Congress, APC, Yobe East) are among the newly elected senators.

Chinedu Akubueze, the Clerk of the Senate, led the new Senators in taking their oaths of office and allegiance, as directed by the Senate President.

Following the swearing-in, Sergeant-At-Arms led them to their appropriate seats.

Following the swearing-in of the three new senators, the number of members in the Senate and their political parties is as follows: APC – 59, PDP – 37, LP – 7, NNPP – 2, SDP – 2, APGA – 1, and ADP – 1.
