King Biobelemoye hails Tinubu, others over approval of FUAB
The Paramount Ruler of Opu-Nembe Kingdom, King (Dr)J Biobelemoye Joy Josiah, Ogbodo VIII, the Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs and the entire citizenry of the Kingdom have commended president Bola Ahmed Tinubu his predecessor President Muhammadu Buhari and others who played roles on the newly approved Federal University of Agriculture Bassambiri (FUAB).
In a letter of appreciation signed by the acting chairman, Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs, Chief Edwin J Asafibofori- Nateini , the kingdom also appealed to president Tinubu to keep to his promises of sustaining and improving on the good works of his predecessor.
The Opu-Nembe kingdom however transferred the land previously donated to house the Federal College of Education Bassambiri (FCOEB), now to the Federal University of Agriculture Bassambiri (FUAB), with additional hectares of land that will be included in the resurveyed document to reflect the FUAB status.
The letter reads in part” Ex-President Mohammadu Buhari for approving the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri (FUAB) as well as appointing an indigenous Professor of Agriculture as the pioneer Vice Chancellor.

“The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for being instrumental to the birth of this great educational achievement for Nigeria in general and the Opu-Nembe Kingdom in Bayelsa State in particular.
“We also use this medium to express our heartfelt appreciation to
Governor Douye Diri of our dear Bayelsa State for being a
Governor that has shown love to the Nembe people in general and Opu-Nembe in particular in a long time during our travails and good times, with expectations that, as the Chief Host and at whose time the university is established, he would not hesitate to provide and release the take-off facility which is Government Girls Secondary School (G.G.S.S.) and make necessary renovations to further stamp his love for the Opu-Nembe Kingdom.
“Furthermore, we also use this opportunity to express our gratitude to Chief Timipre Sylva and Senator B. W. Degi Eremienyo as sons of Opu-Nembe Kingdom who served in Ex- President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration and initiated a Federal College of Education, Bassambiri (FCOEB), that has metamorphosed into a fully fledged Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri (FUAB).
“Lastly, the Opu-Nembe Kingdom will only be willing and glad to do all that is necessary in her domain in ensuring that this monumental project attains its maximum success.
“To this end, His Royal Majesty, King OGBODO VIII, has transferred the land previously donated to house the Federal College of Education Bassambiri (FCOEB), now to the Federal University of Agriculture Bassambiri (FUAB), with additional hectares of land that will be included in the resurveyed document to reflect the FUAB status”.
