Platinum Times reported that Tinubu also named Mr. Yau Darazo as special adviser for political and intergovernmental affairs, Mr. Wale Edun as special adviser for monetary policies, and Mrs. Olu Verheijen as special adviser for energy. Dele Alake was also named special adviser for special duties, communications, and strategy.

Salma Ibrahim Anas Biography
Salma is the daughter of the late Ibrahim Anas, a politician and former police officer from the Silumthla ward of the Biu Local Government Area. From 1979 until 1983, he held the positions of deputy governor of Borno State and chairman of the Biu LGA.
Salma was born and brought up in Maiduguri. She completed her elementary school there in 1978 before attending Government Girl’s College Maiduguri to earn her O’ level diploma.
In 1978, she graduated from the University of Maiduguri with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Dr. Salma has over 25 years of expertise in the development of the health sector.
She has expertise in developing strategic plans, securing funding, and carrying out a variety of health programs at the global, regional, and national levels.
She is passionate about enhancing access to quality Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Adolescent and Elderly Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAEH+N) services, including Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Gender Based Violence. Her technical skills and expertise span Health Systems Strengthening with particular reference to PHC and Health System Strengthening. She has a great deal of experience in both the public and private sectors.
She presently oversees important Divisions at the FMOH, including Reproductive Health, Child Health and Gender, Adolescent, School Health and Elderly Care (GASHE), Nutrition and Health Promotion Divisions. She holds the position of Director, Family Health Services.
She has previously served as the Federal Ministry of Health of Nigeria’s Director/Head Special Projects and National Coordinator for the Health Sector Humanitarian Crisis Response.
Dr. Salma has served as the state’s honorary commissioner of health twice, during the height of the humanitarian crisis in that area. For her outstanding leadership during this time, she received numerous awards from a variety of organizations, including one for the Northeast’s top commissioner in the fight against polio.
In the private sector, Dr. Salma has held positions as the National Team Leader for the DFID-funded MNCH2 project, Assistant Country Representative/Head Reproductive Health/HIV for the United Nations Funds for Population Activities (UNFPA), Nigeria, and Deputy Country Director for Strengthening Nigeria’s Response on HIV/AIDS (SNR)/DFID, Family Health International (FHI).
She has also worked for the World Health Organization in Sanaa, Yemen, as a Country Officer on HIV/STIs.
