Alhaji Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian business mogul and the chairman of the Dangote group, a business conglomerate which operates in the whole of West Africa.

He has been listed by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index to be worth $16.1 billion in November 2023, making him the richest person in Africa, the world’s richest black person and the world’s 107th richest person.

He was born into a wealthy Hausa Muslim family on 10th April, 1957 in Kano, which was then part of British Nigeria.

His mother, Mariya Sanusi Dantata, was the daughter of businessman Sanusi Dantata.

Dangote has been married to two different women in the past Zainab Dangote and Mariya Muhammad Rufai.

He also adopted a son to his name and they are all successful in their private endeavors and also in the family’s business.

Fatima Dangote is also the daughter of Aliko and she heads a Cupcake Factory.

She has a passion for baking and this made her to establish her business, the Cupcake Factory is located in Lagos.

She holds a law degree from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom and has attended leadership executive programs at Columbia University, Wharton School, and Cambridge University.

She got married on March 2018, to Jamil Abubakar, a pilot and the son of former Inspector General of Police.

She also functions as the Group Executive Director Commercial Operations at Dangote Industries Limited (DIL).

She is a Member of the Nigerian Bar and was previously an Associate at Banwo & Ighodalo. She has also previously run her own independent confectionary business and real estate company.

Fatima is passionate about philanthropy and is actively involved in the work of the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

Halima Dangote

Halima Aliko Dangote is one of Dangote’s daughters and the executive director, commercial operations of Dangote Group.

She is on the board of Dangote Group, NASCON Allied Industries Plc, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Endeavor Nigeria, and a member of Women Corporate Directors and president of the board of the Africa Centre in New York.

She is a graduate of Marketing from the American Intercontinental University, London, and Webster Business School, London.

She raised the bar at Webster Business School, London immediately after her first degree to obtain Master’s of Business Administration.

She is also married to Kano-based Sulaiman Sani Bello and they have two beautiful daughters.

She is the executive director at Dangote Industry Limited.

Mariya Dangote

Mariya is the third child of Aliko Dangote.

 

She received a Master’s degree from the Coventry University and has ever since been in close relationship with her father.

She obtained a degree in law from the Ahmadu Bello University and then furthered to Coventry University in the United Kingdom where she obtained a Master’s Degree.

Despite her rich background, Mariya is calm and would not be found in social gatherings as she prefers to keep a low profile.

She is a businesswoman and one of the top managers in Dangote Group. She is often being addressed as “the secretive daughter” of Aliko Dangote.

Abdulrahman Fasasi

Abdulrahman is the adopted son of the Billionaire business tycoon, he adopted him after his previous marriages failed to produce a son.

Owing to his birth status, informations about him is not is easily accessible by the media.
