Monday Okpebholo is an indigene of Edo State in the South-South region of Nigeria.
He was born on 12th June, 1962 into a Godly home where the principles of respect, truthfulness and hardwork were held in high esteem.
While growing up, Okpebholo attended the Uromi Elementary school before proceeding to Uromi Grammar school for his secondary education.

He began his career as an enterpreneur, he founded Monokpebho Nigeria Limited, a famous agro-allied business firm that grows and exports cash crops like cassava, cocoa, rubber, and palm oil.
In addition, he established Monokpebho Oil and Gas Limited, a significant participant in both the upstream and downstream segments of the oil and gas market.
He also established and chaired Monokpebho Construction Limited, a respectable building and road construction company in the country and the luxury hotel and resort brand Monokpebho Hotels and Suites, which operates both in Nigeria and beyond.
Politics
He joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999 and was elected to the House of Representatives for the federal constituency of Esan North-East/Esan South-East.
While in the House of Representatives, he was identified as an outspoken lawmaker who pioneered and sponsored various motions of national interest such as the creation and execution of policies and initiatives that improved the agricultural sector and the living conditions of people in the rural areas. He was the Chairman, House Committe on Agriculture and Rural Development and also a member of the Works, Petroleum Resources, Finance, and Appropriations committees.
He was re-elected as member of the House of Representatives still under the people’s Democratic party platform in 2003 and was given the mandate to oversee and control the operations of the upstream segment of the oil and gas business while holding the position of chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) and also a member of the committees on power, foreign affairs, and defence.
In 2019, Senator Monday Okpebholo contested on the APC platform and was elected to the Senate representing the Edo Central Senatorial District.
