Namibia secures first ever AFCON victory after stunning win against Tunisia

Deon Hotto’s header in the 88th minute gave Namibia the victory over Tunisia in their opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations match, causing a massive upset.
The Brave Warriors, who came into the game rated 115th in the world and had lost all nine of their prior Afcon games, were deserving winners in Korhogo.
After striker Peter Shalulile’s initial attempt was pushed off the line, Hotto pounced on a cross from Bethuel Muzeu.
In the Fifa rankings, 2004 champions Tunisia are 87 places ahead of Namibia.
With the unexpected outcome, Namibia is now at the top of the standings. Mali and South Africa will play in Group E’s later match at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium (20:00 GMT).
