NFF set to offer Jose Peseiro new contract

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in talks with Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro over a new contract.

According to reports, Ibrahim Musa Gusau-led NFF management is willing to pay the Portuguese soccer coach the same €50,000 monthly salary he received before leading the side to second place at the recently finished 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

According to the report, the 63-year-old former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach earned €70,000 a month before agreeing to a pay cut to lead the Super Eagles to the AFCON 2023.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach lead the Super Eagles to second place in the competition.

Peseiro said this week that he has had at least seven offers from various national teams and clubs, and that he plans to decide on his future employment in the coming days, according to the New Telegraph.

“I told everyone to come back at the end of the month. What is certain is that I want to continue coaching, and I need to choose wisely,” Peseiro said.
