NPFL: Disciplinary board fines Kano Pillars N1M, issues warning to Heartland fans

The Kano Pillars were penalized for their fans’ trespassing onto the field during their encounter versus Rivers United on matchday four at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

The Sai Masu Gida received a N1m fine from the Nigeria Premier Football League disciplinary panel.

It was discovered that Kano Pillars supporters had jumped the boundaries onto the playing field to celebrate their team’s goal in the game’s 93rd minute.

The game’s lone goal, scored by veteran Rabiu Ali, gave Abdu Maikaba’s team the victory.

Kano Pillars have been given a 14-day deadline to pay the punishment and are being cautioned that failure to do so would be viewed as a persistent violation of the NPFL Framework and Rules.

Another development saw Heartland receiving a strong warning to stop the unruly behavior of their supporters.

The league’s governing board also suggested that Naze Millionaires organize reorientation for their fans in order to instill in them the value of fair play.
