Katsina United suffers 1-0 defeat against Kano pillars in tight contest

kano Pillars Football Club defeated visiting Katsina United 1-0 on Saturday in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

Pillars overcame their previous week’s away setback to Sunshine of Akure to take the lead in the 27th minute of the game, when Mustafa Ibrahim scored in front of their home crowd at the Sani Abacha stadium.

Though the visiting Katsina side increased their game and attempted to equalize, their attempts were thwarted by the host side’s back line.

During a post-match interview, Coach Absu Maikaba praised his players, saying they “played to instruction.”

After losing their road game 1-0, Maikaba hailed the conclusion of the game as satisfying.

He stated that the victory was crucial for his young team because it was the second match of the season.

“My team will continue to improve and work hard for a win against Abia Warriors on Wednesday,” he stated.

Tope Bulus, the Head Coach of Katsina United, stated that his club would go back to the drawing board in order to win again.

He also praised his team’s battling spirit.
