Niger State Governor, Hon Mohammed Umaru Bago, has warned the Local Government Chairmen in the state to operate within the procurement law.
The governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba declared open a 3-day Training Workshop earlier held at Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference, Minna with the theme; Efficient Procurement, Optimal Planning, and Effective Store Management: Enhancing Service Delivery Through Capacity Building For Local Government Procurement, Planning and Store Officers.
In his remark, the Governor urged the LG Chairmen to ensure their LG operates within Procurement laws and ensure due process is observed in procurement process through service delivery. He further charged the chairmen on”to whom much is given, much is expected.
The Governor reiterate on the developmental challenges of LG and reassures the participants on the present administration policies and programs that have direct and positive impact on LG system and administration.
The Governor concluded his remark by thanking the LG service commission for their foresight in organizing the session and also challenge them to organize same for LG legislators and employees since it will not longer be business as usual and there will be no room for failure.
