Peter Obi publishes credentials after claims of “different names” (photo)

A party chieftain named Oseloka Obaze has made the certificates public in response to claims made by Abayomi Arabambi, the national publicity secretary of the Lamidi Apapa-led faction, that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the most recent general election used a different name on his certificates.

Arabambi claimed to have been one of those who interviewed Obi in advance of the party’s presidential primary.

Arabambi asserts that the name on Obi’s University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) academic certificate conflicts with the name on his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.

No certificate issued to the former governor of Anambra State was faked, according to Obaze in a post on X (previously known as Twitter).

Obaze posted images of Obi’s WASC, Bachelor of Arts (BA), and NYSC certificates to further clarify the veracity of the LP presidential candidate’s qualifications.

On his blog, he stated, “As Americans say; Trust But Verify. Here are Peter Obi’s certified WASC, BA, and NYSC certificates:

There is nothing false, forged, or ambiguous. Integrity and transparency are the cornerstones of leadership. Comparatively, confirmed CSU materials raised more concerns.

However, according to the shared documents, Obi’s West African Examinations Council School Certificate is inscribed with the name “Obi Gregory Onwubuasi.”

Gregory Peter Onwubuasi Obi is listed as the name on the certificate from the University of Nigeria, but Gregory Peter-Onwubuasi Obi is listed as the name on the certificate from the NYSC.
