Pre-Season: Top players missing as Mikel Arteta announce Arsenal squad to USA

The traveling squad led by Mikel Arteta for Arsenal’s preseason tour of the United States is missing seven Arsenal players.

Thomas Partey, a 30-year-old Ghanaian international who is rumored to be leaving Arsenal, was one of the absentees.

Juventus and several Saudi Pro League teams are interested in Partey.

The midfielder was a member of the group that drew 1-1 with Numberg in their first preseason match on Thursday, but he was not there when the team departed for the United States on Sunday.

The Gunners did not give a reason for the Ghanaian’s absence but did state: “We expect Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe to join us next week.”

Other players include Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe, Cedric Soares, and Albert Sambi Lokonga, all of whom left Arsenal on loans in the previous campaign.

Nuno Tavares and Reiss Nelson are also absent.
