Pre-season Watch: Mason Mount shines for Utd against Leeds

After just ten minutes against Leeds, United began to benefit from Mason Mount both on and off the ball.

Hannibal Mejbri’s first great opportunity came off a clever pass Mount made from left to right, but what was maybe even more brilliant was the push Mount organized just seconds afterwards.

As four forwards coordinated their sprint, Mount led the attack. The new No. 7 then recovered the ball and attempted an ambitious chip that kissed the net’s roof. Although it is excused in such a dull contest, Erik ten Hag may not like the profligacy.

“I’m sure he will bring dynamic into our game and that’s one of our analytical conclusions after last season,” Ten Hag said prior to kick-off. “We need more dynamic in the midfield department.”
