Sen. Jarigbe: Top Senators got N500m, I got N75m (video)
Agom-Jarigbe revealed this during a story session in Abuja, where members debated Senator Abdul Ningi's budget padding charges from Bauchi Central Senatorial District.
On Tuesday, there was drama in the Senate as the Upper Chamber’s discussion of Senator Abdul Ningi’s (PDP Bauchi) charge of budget padding suddenly became erratic.
As parliamentarians took turns contributing, with some outright denouncing Senator Ningi’s media briefing where the claims were made, Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe, on his part, accused the politicians of being complicit in the budget padding scandal.
He accused the leadership of the Red Chamber of marginalizing constituency projects, claiming that “some so-called Senior Senators got N500 million, I got N 75 million.”
His words were followed by confusion, as the Senate President turned off his microphone to avoid additional revelations.
