Six suspected internet fraudsters nabbed by EFCC in Uyo
Along the Calabar-Itu route in the Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have detained six alleged internet fraudsters.
This was revealed in a statement sent by the EFCC’s acting head of media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, which our correspondent in Uyo was able to receive on Monday.
According to Oyewala, the suspects were detained during the early-morning sting operation on Thursday, October 5, 2023, as a result of information connecting them to possible internet-related activities.
Udenze Benjamin, Godwin Atike, Emmanuel Francis, Adebe Oluwademilade, Anietie Brownson, and Sabastin Obioma were among those he named.
The statement stated that several items, including phones and laptops, had been recovered from them and that, once the investigations were complete, they would be charged in court.

“Operatives of the EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters along Calabar-Itu road in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State following intelligence. Some items recovered from them include phones and laptops.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
