Vardy rejects Saudi move

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has turned down an approach from Saudi Pro League club Al-Khaleej, according to Sky Sports.
The Leicester stalwart will enter the final 12 months of his contract at King Power Stadium at the start of next season, but there is no talk of an extended deal on the horizon.
The 36-year-old is reportedly yet to sit down with new Leicester manager Enzo Maresca to discuss his long-term future and what role he may play next season.
However, it is understood Vardy is uninterested in a transfer to Saudi Arabia despite the free-spending nation making it a priority to lure several Europe-based stars to the Middle East this summer.
Vardy is settled in England and does not consider a move to the Gulf nation to be ideal for himself and his family despite approaching the twilight of his illustrious career.
The England international joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012 and has led the club to a famous Premier League triumph and an FA Cup title over the years.
Vardy has made 427 appearances for Leicester during his 11-year stay at the King Power, rippling the net 170 times while providing 68 assists.
Despite being in the latter stages of his career, the Englishman remained a key part of the squad last season, scoring six goals and setting up five in 42 appearances across all competitions.
His contributions were not enough to help the Foxes survive relegation, but the striker will be hoping to help his side secure a quick return to the Premier League next season.
Leicester are under siege following their descent to the Championship, with several of their high-profile players linked with a summer exit.
Seven players will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of this month, while top performer James Maddison has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Last season’s top scorer Harvey Barnes could follow suit, with the Englishman attracting interest from West Ham United, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.
