Understanding the Reason for the Delay in N-Power Backlog Stipend Payments Despite Fund Recovery

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) recently stated that the payout of outstanding stipends to former N-Power beneficiaries will begin on Monday, November 27th, 2023. Concerns are growing, however, because the Federal Government has neglected to distribute the nine-month stipends for Batch C beneficiaries, despite the stated recovery of cash. This delay compels a closer examination of the issues contributing to the continued payment difficulties.

Payment strategies and Fund Recovery:

While NASIMS has announced strategies to address the payment backlog, the payout of stipends to Batch C beneficiaries is experiencing difficulties. The government is said to have seized cash from alleged looters, raising hopes for swift payment. However, the procedure is complicated, involving the authentication of beneficiary eligibility and the revamping of the program into the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme.

Ministerial Efforts and Program Restructuring:

Minister Betta Edu is aggressively trying to settle the overdue payments and support the revamping of the N-Power program. The delay is due to extensive efforts to examine and authenticate recipient eligibility, ensuring that stipends are distributed to qualified persons.

Payment Failure Resolution:

Beneficiaries who are experiencing payment difficulties are presently restricted from viewing the dashboard for updates. Despite the problems, the Ministry maintains accurate records of recipients who have payment issues and expects to disperse pending payments after validations are successfully completed.

Conclusion:

The delay in disbursing nine-month stipends for N-Power Batch C beneficiaries is due to the complexity of current processes, such as eligibility confirmation and program reorganization.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to be informed about the payment schedule through proper channels as the Ministry works hard to overcome these problems.

The government is still dedicated to addressing payment concerns and ensuring that qualified individuals receive their stipends as part of its social intervention programs.
