Why we suffered 2-1 defeat against Fulham – Arsenal coach Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed why his club was defeated 2-1 by Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Fulham defeated Arsenal at home thanks to two goals from Raul Jiménez and Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
Against Fulham, Bukayo Saka scored for the visitors.
Arteta stated at his post-match press conference that the Gunners were not good enough against the hosts.
“We weren’t good enough. We didn’t have enough rhythm threat. Defensively, we were second best,” Arteta said.
He added:
“Painful and a sad day. That’s how I would sum it up. We had the chance to be top of the table after 20 games. Three days ago, we lost a game that we deserved to win; today was a different story.”
The result leaves Arsenal in fourth position on the Premier League table, behind Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Liverpool.
