Early Life
Aiyedatiwa was born on 12th January, 1965 in Obe-Nla, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Education
From 1970 until 1976, he attended his community school, St. Peter’s UNA (now FAC) primary School. From 1982 to 1986, he lived in Lagos and attended Ikosi High School in Ketu, Lagos.
Lucky holds a National Certificate in Economics and Government from the Lagos State College of Education (now Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education) in Ijanikin, Lagos.
In 2001, he earned an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan.
He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Chief Executive Education (CEP) in Business Management from the Lagos Business School at Pan Atlantic University in Lekki, Lagos State.
He eventually earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
Career
Aiyedatiwa worked as an Inventory/Store Officer at Scoa Assembly Plant Plc. Apapa, Lagos, from 1982 to 1983.
In 1987, he entered the educational sector as an assistant Head Teacher at Reliance International Schools in Ijokodo, Ibadan.
He began his career as a marketing officer at Universal Pharmaceutical Supply Co. Ltd in Ikeja, Lagos, before moving on to become an Assistant Investment Analyst at Global Trust Ltd in Gbagada, Lagos State.
Aiyedatiwa was the General Merchandise Manager at Biz Mart Nigeria Limited in Lagos Island in 1994.
In 1996, he founded his own company, Blue Wall Group of Companies, which provides banking, travel, and logistics services.
Political Career
He entered active politics in 2011 as a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which eventually merged with other parties to become the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In 2014, he was one of Ondo State’s National Delegates to the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Convention in Abuja.
In the 2015 Presidential and National Assembly General Elections, he ran for the federal House of Representatives for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency.
From 2018 to 2019, he served as the federal commissioner who represented Ondo State on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
He was chosen as the running mate for Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the 2020 Ondo State gubernatorial election.
Aiyedatiwa took over as acting governor on December 12, 2023, when Governor Rotimi Akeredolu went on medical vacation.
When Akeredolu was on medical leave, he acted as acting governor from June to September 2023.
Following the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on December 27, 2023, he became the state’s incumbent Governor.
