Arthur Okonkwo’s Nationality switch to Nigeria approved by FIFA
FIFA has authorized Arthur Okonkwo’s nationality change. The 22-year-old Arsenal goalkeeper, who is presently on loan at Wrexham, is now eligible to represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Arthur Chukwuezugo Okonkwo (born September 9, 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays goalkeeper for EFL League Two club Wrexham on loan from Premier League club Arsenal.
Okonkwo was born in London and began his career at Hampstead Academy before going on to Lindus Park,[4] where he joined the Arsenal academy at the age of eight in 2009.
He had previously spent loan periods in Crewe Alexandra, Sturm Graz, and now, Wrexham.
Okonkwo played for England’s under-16 and under-17 teams before making his under-18 debut two days before his birthday.
Okonkwo has a younger brother, Brian, who also plays goalkeeper for Arsenal’s academy.
