Birth

Angela Okorie is a Nigerian actress, born on August 17, 1975 in Cotonou, Benin Republic but originally hails from Ishiagu village in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

She is the third of five children born to her parents, and she grew up in a middle-class family in Cotonou.

Education

Angela had her elementary and secondary education at Cotonou before returning to Nigeria where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Public administration from the Lagos State University and another degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos.

Career

Angela’s interest in acting began at a young age when she was actively involved in her school’s drama club.

After working as a model for a soap company for several years, Angela Okorie began her acting career in 2009 and made her debut in the movie, “Sincerity”.

However, she made her big break in the movie industry when she featured in “Holy Serpent”.

Her performance earned her recognition and led to more roles in films like “Heart of a Widow” and “My Champion.”

Angela Okorie remarried on July 25th, 2020, and became engaged to her long-term partner, Nwele Michael Chukwudi, also known as Chuchu.

Notwithstanding her achievements,  Angela Okorie has made it clear that she will not engage in nude acting, no matter how much money is involved.

She reaffirmed her position by pointing out that even Genevieve Nnaji, one of her role models in the Nigerian film industry, avoided using nudity as a means of success.
