Biography
Idris Malagi was born on May 2nd, 1966 in the Niger State local government of Gbako. Between 1971 through 1977, he attended Kontagora for his basic education. In 1977, he continued on to GSS Rijau, where he earned his degree in 1982.
He was accepted in 1983 to study English at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, from which he received his degree in 1987.
In 1995, he received his master’s degree in the same field from Bayero University Kano.
Career
Idris Malagi launched the Blueprint newspaper in May 2011 and has served as its chairman and CEO ever since.
He founded and serves as chairman of the Bifocal Group.
He was chosen as the general secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria in December 2020.
On November 27, 2019, he became the new owner of WE 106.5 FM’s parent company, Kings Broadcasting Network. Abuja
Political History
Mohammed Idris Malagi stood for governor of Niger State in the general election of Nigeria in 2023 as a member of the All Progressives Congress.
He received 154 votes, but House of Representatives member Umar Bago received 386 votes, defeating him.
He was chosen to serve as the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council’s (PCC) director of strategic communications.
Awards
