Olubunmi Tunji Ojo hails from Oyin Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. Born on 1st May, 1982.

He has two children from his wife, Abimbola Tunji Ojo.

 

Education

He graduated with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of London(now London Metropolitan University) in 2005 after studying for a few years in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He had his First School Leaving Certificate in Universal Primary School in 1993 after attending Ansarudeen Primary School, Oyin Akoko between 1987 and 1990 and Hakda International school in Kaduna from 1990 to 1992.

He attended FUTA staff secondary school where he had his West African Senior School Certificate in 1998.

In 2006, he bagged a master’s degree in Digital Communication and Networking from the University of London.

He has certificates in eighteen professional qualifications in ICT including the prestigious title of being one of the first set of certified ethical hackers from Royal Britannia IT Training Academy in the United Kingdom before the age of 24.

 

Professional Career

Tunji-Ojo started working as an ICT expert and CEO of Matrix IT Solutions Limited.

He is a certified CompTIA Network Plus Engineer and a Britannia Hardware A+ Management Certificate Holder.

Alongside his ICT expertise, he also worked with World Bank and different government agencies such as Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), National Health Insurance Scheme, Abuja (NHIS), Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), different committees of the Senate and House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigeria Gas Company, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education etc. He also chaired the first Nigerian Content Workshop(NCW) in 2016.

 

Politics

He entered politics in the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), where he was chosen to represent Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, he was re-elected into office in 2023.

He was later appointed by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). While serving in the house, he led the investigations against the theft of about 80 billion naira in the commission.

He was re-elected as the federal lawmaker to represent Akoko North East and North West Federal Constituency and appointed Director General of the campaign team of Hon. Tajudeen Abass, who later became the speaker of the house of representative of the 10th Assembly.

He was the Deputy Director, Policy, Research and Strategy Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in 2023.

In August 2023, he was appointed Minister of Interior by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
