(Rivers) You cannot remove Amaechi from APC – Chieftain warns Wike

Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has reiterated that former Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, could not have ordered party members and supporters in the state to vote against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

He said this in response to a statement attributed to Tony Okocha, whom he accused of smear politics.

The APC chieftain described the purported bogus claim propagated by Okocha as fictional and a cocktail of lies purposefully planned against Amaechi by enemies who consider such engagement as required to gratify their paymasters in a statement made accessible to the media.

He stated, for the umpteenth time, that the said Okocha was never a member of the APC prior to the election and had no knowledge of its inner workings.

Furthermore, the APC chairman praised the party’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, for disappointing what he called Wike’s conflict mercenaries, Okocha and company, who had come to meet him.

According to Platinum Times, Okocha led a delegation of his circle to the APC’s National Secretariat.

Eze stated that the meeting was held to obtain Ganduje’s approval to continue their offensive against Amaechi and the mainstream APC state executive in Rivers.

“Okocha and his team were disappointed when Abdullahi Ganduje cautioned them not to heat up the polity and allow the leadership of the party at the central work out modalities to calm frayed nerves and resolve every issue affecting the party in the state before delving into constituting another party structure in the state,” he said.

He reiterated that Wike, Okocha or any member of their circle cannot remove Amaechi from APC.
