Guinea-Bissau’s head coach, Baciro Cande, has endorsed the Super Eagles to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Cande’s team lost 1-0 against Nigeria on Monday night, completing their AFCON 2023 campaign on a low note.
Opa Sangante’s 36th-minute own goal gave the Super Eagles the victory in the closely contested match.
So far in the campaign, the Super Eagles have struggled to impress, and many believe they lack the talent to win a fourth crown.
Cande, on the other hand, believes that fellow West Africans have what it takes to win in Cote d’Ivoire.
“Nigeria have a good team, a lot of quality players including Victor Osimhen who is Africa’s best player,” Cande said during his interaction with the media after the game.
“It is a team I know very well and I believe they will go far in this competition.
“I believe they can win it. They are now among the favourites.”
