Security Breach: NPFL slams N1m fine on Sporting Lagos

Sporting Lagos has been fined N1 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League for a security infraction.

Sporting Lagos received a fine for failing to provide proper protection during their match against Heartland on Sunday.

The game ended 1-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

Sporting Lagos must pay the fine within 14 days or face additional penalties.

The club has been instructed to put in place an efficient matchday security plan and to organize a reorientation program for its fans.

To avoid a repetition, the NPFL board has instructed the club to implement an adequate matchday security strategy.

The small club has 48 hours to file an appeal.
