Biography

Abubakkar Momoh hails from Imiegba, North Ibie, Etsako East LGA of Edo State.

His wife is Mrs Jummai Momoh and he has children from her.

 

Politics

Abubakkar Momoh has served as a councilor to a local government chairman before being chosen as Member of House of Representatives of Edo State from 1999 to 2003.

He was spotted as one of the best lawmakers of Edo State as at that time.

From 2003 to 2007, Momoh served in Etsako Federal Constituency and was a key player in the election of ex-governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole.

He switched to the people’s Democratic party (PDP) in 2019 and contested for Edo North Senatorial seat but lost. This made him to return to the All progressive Congress ( APC).

Abubakkar Momoh has been appointed as the Minister for Niger Delta Development of the federation by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
